Creating patterns

This week in  Maths, we are exploring different types of lines. In order to begin investigating this topic, we created our own patterns outside using natural materials. We tried to use lots of different types of lines, to create really interesting designs.   20160711_101040 20160711_101042 20160711_101113 20160711_101131 20160711_101154 20160711_101207 20160711_101251 20160711_101301 20160711_101311 20160711_101327 20160711_101341 20160711_101352 20160711_101404 20160711_101432 20160711_101434 20160711_101500 20160711_101511 20160711_101530 20160711_101543 20160711_101611 20160711_101626 20160711_101631 20160711_101651 20160711_101653

Our first performance!

This week, we played our recorders for our families and the rest of the school. In Year 3, we have worked really hard to practice playing our recorders and we have really enjoyed learning lots of different songs. Thank you Mrs Combes for teaching us how to play the reorder. 20160707_145958 20160707_145959 20160707_150418 20160707_150423 20160707_150426 20160707_150431 20160707_150432

William Morris inspired art

Recently in Forest School, we learnt about a Victorian artist called William Morris. We discussed  how the majority of his patterns were inspired by the natural world, such as leaves and flowers. Next, we went outside and created our own patterns inspired by William Morris and nature.
